Patient safety is the work. Everything else is consequence.
CalmWave was selected as one of four finalists in the 2026 KidsX x Solutions for Patient Safety Innovation Challenge.

Pediatric ICUs run inside a continuous wash of monitor signals. NICU and PICU teams are forced to sort signal from noise across that volume every shift.
CalmWave was selected as one of four finalists in the 2026 KidsX x Solutions for Patient Safety Innovation Challenge. We will present at the SPS Spring Learning Session on May 15 in St. Louis, alongside Backy (TacnIQ), DEFUSE (Nationwide Children’s Hospital), and Kwema. Strong cohort. Real problems. Children’s hospitals at the table to decide what gets piloted next.
Patient safety is the goal. Always. Children deserve continuous, trustworthy monitoring tuned specifically to their physiology and condition, and the people caring for them deserve infrastructure that lets them act on what is real.
When the underlying signal layer is treated as infrastructure, the safety substrate gets stronger. Physiologic events surface with the prominence they should always have had. Non-actionable alarms decline. Device reliability and performance become measurable rather than anecdotal. Those are the byproducts.
A pediatric deployment is not an adult deployment scaled down. It is its own scientific and clinical posture. We are entering it with that respect.
Grateful to KidsX and SPS Hospitals for their laser focus on what protects children and the people caring for them.
Patient safety is the work. Everything else is consequence.
